Byleron Research legal information
Terms of Service
The terms that govern access to Byleron Research and related website services.
Last updated: 13 August 2026Agreement and eligibility
By creating an account, starting a trial, purchasing a plan, or using Byleron Research, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Notice. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into this agreement. If you use the service for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.
The service
Byleron Research is a web-based academic research workspace. It supports literature discovery and search (Quick, Pro, and Deep modes), a personal PDF source library, evidence comparison, AI-assisted synthesis and drafting (Craft), Chat with Research for source-grounded follow-up questions, and citation generation in multiple academic formats. Features and capacity depend on your active plan.
Accounts, research material, and acceptable use
Keep your account credentials secure and provide accurate account information. You are responsible for your research questions, uploaded PDFs, selected sources, and generated drafts. You must have the necessary rights and permissions to upload, process, export, or send any material to AI features. Do not use the service unlawfully, to infringe the rights of others, to upload malware, to interfere with the service, or to attempt unauthorised access.
Ownership and deletion
You retain rights in the research material and outputs you create, subject to rights you grant to us only as necessary to operate the service. You can delete research records and library PDFs from the workspace and may request account deletion through Contact Support. Export a backup before deleting a research record or changing to a plan with lower capacity.
Plans, trials, cancellation, downgrades, and refunds
Eligible paid plans include a 7-day free trial and require a payment card. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, the selected recurring plan begins and is charged. Cancellation stops the next recurring charge; access and remaining allowance continue until the current billing date. A downgrade takes effect at the next billing date, so the current plan continues for the rest of its paid period. Refund requests made within 7 days of payment may be submitted through Contact Support using the Refund request topic. Institution arrangements, including invoicing, are agreed directly with us.
AI assistance
AI features such as Pro and Deep research, Chat with Research, and Craft are optional. You are responsible for reviewing AI outputs and determining whether they are appropriate for your work. Read the AI Use Disclosure before relying on AI-generated research material.
Availability and suspension
We aim to provide a reliable service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. We may maintain, modify, suspend, or discontinue features where reasonably necessary. We may suspend access to protect the service, comply with law, address non-payment, or respond to a material breach of these Terms.
Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties that it will meet every research, institutional, publication, or regulatory requirement. You remain responsible for research decisions, source verification, academic integrity, and review of all outputs before relying on or publishing them.
